30Days1It’s June already!

That means in a couple of weeks my newborn will already be six months old.

And it also means I missed this blog’s first birthday last month – happy belated first birthday The Mini Malpi!

And you might realise that my sense of trying to catch up with the time also means that I’m not quite as prepared for this year’s #30DaysWild as I was last year.

In the brief chance I had to think about it last week I thought we’d at least have the wild flower seeds to sow that were sent with our pack from the Wildlife Trust.  However, Daddy Malpi then decided that would be a good weekend activity instead.

charterlogo6Fortunately there are plenty of other #30DayWilders out there to provide inspiration and someone in the Facebook group suggested that signing the Tree Charter could be a very simple and quick first action to take for day one.

“More than 70 organisations from across multiple sectors have joined forces to create a Charter for Trees, Woods and People that will guide policy and practice in the UK. We believe the people of the UK have a right to the many benefits brought by trees and woods. The new Tree Charter, launching on 6 November 2017, will recognise, celebrate and protect this right”.

I do rather love trees and woods are definitely my favourite places so my name is now among one of the more than 58,000 that have put themselves forward so far to support the Charter that aims to “reconnect people and trees”.

If you’re also looking for inspiration for things to try your mini ones’ hands at in the coming 29 days you might want to take a look at this list of 50 Wild Things To Do With Urban Toddlers from another #30DayWilder.  Compiled by Baobao Tea and Soy, a former early years teacher and now mum who firmly believes “in children learning through their play” there are plenty of fun and achievable ideas for little hands.
