A new star and popular favourites were getting ready to take to a Lincoln stage yesterday when the New Theatre Royal hosted its winter pantomime press launch.

Jake Quickenden (The X Factor, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Dancing on Ice) will star in Beauty & the Beast at the Clasketgate venue from Tuesday, December 7th, 2021 to Sunday, January 9th, 2022.

Flash Hugo (Jake Quickenden) & Singit Sisters.

Taking on the role of baddie Flash Hugo, an arrogant, self-loving, egotistical, ladies’ man who will stop at nothing to win the hand of Belle, Jake will feature alongside NTR audience favourite Chris Johnson (CBBC) who this season will be Belle’s father, kooky inventor Professor Ivar Brainstorm.

Also returning by popular demand is Zoe Hanna May (The Voice).  Appearing as Maid Marian in 2019, this time she will play the role of Belle.  And another familiar face taking to the stage is Christian Lee (Britain’s Got Talent) who will be the quirky candelabra Marcel Allumette.

Lincoln’s home-grown talent will be represented by Chris Hayes, Paul Aitchison, Georgia Hayes-Cowley and James de Lauch Hay whilst Camilia O’Grady, Vanessa Dumatey, and Laura Wenton will be making their NTR debuts.

The cast of Beauty & the Beast with musical director Joel Burgess and producer, writer and director Natalie Hayes-Cowley.

NTR’s artistic director and the show’s producer, writer, and director Natalie Hayes-Cowley said, “As with all our pantomimes, I like to bring something a little different that audiences won’t expect, and this year is no exception. We set the bar high with Robin Hood and this year we hope to raise it again. You can expect to see this beautiful story come to life on stage thanks to a huge multi-talented cast, with fabulous dance routines, incredible singers performing cult classic songs, along with the classic comedy, fun and games you would expect – with an extra touch of magic!  This enchanting tale as old as time has something for everyone young and old.”

Signed Performance: Friday, January 17th, 7pm.
Relaxed Performance: Friday, January 17th, 2pm.
