DTC Productions is celebrating its 20th anniversary in style by choosing Lincoln Cathedral to be the stunning venue for its latest production.

Following last year’s acclaimed production of Les Misérables, the theatre company is ready to return with its most colourful production to date – Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat – running from July 17th to 23rd.

Producers Jamie Marcus and Julie Fox are presenting a truly unforgettable way to celebrate the company’s milestone year with the company’s very own “choir of angels” tackling the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical alongside children from four local schools.

“Research has confirmed time and again that participation in the arts leads to positive outcomes for young people both in terms of their cognitive development and their mental health and well-being, so we felt strongly that this production should be an opportunity to share that wellbeing more broadly with the young people of Lincoln,” says Jamie.

“We know that theatre is the perfect way to connect and engage with members of the community drawn from all age-groups, and DTC shows are family-friendly titles that appeal to a wide range of people across different demographics of age, sex, religion, social mobility and ethnicity. That makes them perfect to perform in the stunning setting of Lincoln Cathedral.”

Record-breaking ticket sales so far reflect that the musical is a much-loved classic, as well as the city’s desire to support its own talent.  The show has been performed in 13 different countries and includes famous numbers as Any Dream Will Do, Joseph’s Coat and Close Every Door.

Previous shows by DTC Productions include Evita, Legally Blonde, Phantom of the Opera and CATS and the company’s Matt Hewitt explains why Joseph is another great crowd-pleasing choice: “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is possibly the most up-lifting, energising and feel-good musical theatre production of our generation.  It tells the story of forgiveness and the power of dreaming. The score, written beautifully by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber is now iconic, it’s simply joyous.  This production, directed and produced for Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Aacdemy of Theatre Arts, will have audiences singing along, laughing out-loud and enjoying a great night out.  I cannot begin to tell you how excited we are to present this wonderful show to our audiences, nothing compares to live theatre, it is shared experience and wow, what a venue to behold, just stunning!”
